Research & Development
Advancing the Potential of 3D Printing Technology
We bridge the gap between industry and researcher — producing what they need for a better future.
Areas of Research
Where We Innovate
Medical & Healthcare
Bridging the gap between clinical need and manufacturing capability. We collaborate with researchers and hospitals to produce what they need for better patient outcomes.
Material Innovation
Developing new materials for additive manufacturing, including rubber-based polymers in collaboration with Lembaga Getah Malaysia — expanding what can be 3D printed.
Locally Developed Bioprinter
Designing and building the GENSx170 in Malaysia to give researchers a locally supported platform for bioprinting, tissue engineering, and biomedical innovation.
Our Focus
Research & Development
One of our core focus areas is research and development. We understand the potential of 3D printing technology and the need for new materials and processes that can be used across many applications.
Our R&D spans medical, automotive, and aerospace industries. Through many collaborations, we bridge the gap between industry and researcher — producing what they need for better healthcare and stronger products.
We also work with the innovative Product Development Centre (IPDC) in the United Kingdom for joint product development focusing on metal 3D printing that stretches into automotive, Oil & Gas, and consumer products.
Our UK collaboration also includes the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM), the UK's government-appointed independent additive manufacturing body hosted by the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). NCAM provides end-to-end metal, polymer, and ceramic AM expertise spanning research, process development, implementation, and training. Together with NCAM MTC, the University of Warwick, and the University of Wolverhampton, 3D Gens conducted an Additive Manufacturing Professional Course in the UK that included an industry visit to Renishaw UK.
