PSI Logic Maxfac: Mandibular Reconstruction

Reconstruction of mandibular defects resulting from segmental mandibulectomy is one of the most demanding challenges faced by oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Last year, 3D Gens designed, simulated, and printed patient-specific implants for mandibular reconstruction using 3D printing technology.

The Challenge

Each case demands optimal functional and aesthetic outcomes for the individual patient. The geometry of the mandible is highly patient-specific - no standard implant can replicate it adequately.

Our Digital Workflow

3D Gens uses an end-to-end digital workflow combining multiple technologies:

TechnologyApplication
FDMAnatomical planning models
SLASurgical cutting guides
SLM (metal)Titanium patient-specific implants

Multiple software tools are used across data acquisition, 3D modelling, implant design, virtual simulation, lattice structure optimisation, and metal printing.

First in Malaysia

Through this work, 3D Gens became the first local company able to offer a complete package for maxillofacial surgeons: surgical planning, cutting guides, and patient-specific implants - all from a single digital workflow.

We will continue improving our services and are deeply grateful to all surgeons who have trusted us with their cases.
