3D Gens and Politeknik Seberang Perai (PSP) have announced a strategic partnership to establish a dedicated 3D Gens Reskilling & Upskilling Centre (RUC) at the polytechnic — bringing structured, industry-aligned additive manufacturing training to the northern region. The first batch of 40 participants was planned for February 2025.
Why a Dedicated RUC
Reskilling and upskilling centres serve a different purpose than standard academic courses. They are designed not just for school leavers but for anyone — working adults, career changers, industry practitioners — who needs to add new skills or update existing ones to remain relevant in a changing job market. By establishing an RUC at Politeknik Seberang Perai, 3D Gens and PSP create a facility accessible to the full spectrum of the northern region's workforce.
The centre's focus on additive manufacturing is deliberate. As industries in the northern region — including aerospace, automotive, and electronics — increasingly incorporate AM into their operations, the demand for workers with practical AM competency grows. The RUC meets that demand with structured, practical training backed by 3D Gens' industrial expertise.
The First Batch
The announcement confirmed February 2025 as the start date for the first cohort of 40 participants. For each of those 40 individuals, the RUC represents an opportunity to acquire skills that directly improve their employability and career options in a growing sector.
Building Northern Region Capability
This partnership strengthens 3D Gens' presence and impact in the northern region, complementing its roadtrip engagements and institutional visits with a permanent, embedded training infrastructure that will continue to produce capable AM practitioners for years to come.
