One of the defining characteristics of additive manufacturing is its ability to pivot quickly. Unlike traditional tooling-based manufacturing, 3D printing does not require expensive moulds or long lead times to retool. When a need arises, production can start within hours.
This flexibility proved critical during COVID-19. Across the world, 3D printing communities, makerspaces, and industrial manufacturers like 3D Gens leveraged this speed to produce face shields, mask components, and other protective equipment at a time when supply chains were overwhelmed.
Giving back and standing together — that is what this moment demanded, and we were glad to respond.
